You'll identify components of visualizations that make easy-to-understand charts, explore and examine the use of visualizations in external media and daily life, and finally you'll build simple visualizations in Tableau. Syllabus

  • Introduction to Tableau & Data Visualization
    • In this module, we'll spend some time getting familiar with Tableau and understanding what makes a visualization easy-to-understand.
  • Ingesting Data & Identifying Components of Charts
    • In this module, you'll connect Tableau to some data and learn how Tableau uses that data within the visualization space. Then, you'll begin to make some basic visualizations.
  • The Visual Display of Information
    • In this module, we'll dive further into Tableau by creating some slightly more complex visualizations and employing filters. We'll then take a look at the role of color in visualizations and how it can be utilized to create sharp, informative visuals.
