  • Getting started with Microsoft Data Analytics
    • Welcome to Week 1 of the Getting Started with Microsoft Data Analytics course. In this week, we will be introduced to the foundational concepts of data analytics and begin our journey into the Microsoft ecosystem. We will explore the core requirements of data analytics, the roles and responsibilities of a data analyst, and understand the structure of a data team. We will also introduce Power BI and get started with building our first basic reports. By the end of the week, we will be able to understand the basic concepts of data analysis and start to work with Power BI.
  • Microsoft Fabric: Introduction & Core Components
    • Welcome to Week 2. This week, we will be introduced to the core components and administrative functionalities of Microsoft Fabric. We will learn about the unified analytics platform, Microsoft Fabric, and how to configure its admin portal. We will explore data gateway types, manage Fabric capacity, and set workspace access controls. We will also learn to customize Power BI report themes, manage Fabric Desktop projects, utilize workspace version control, and understand OneLake security. At the end of the week, we will have a solid understanding of Microsoft Fabric's fundamental components and administrative capabilities.
  • Microsoft Fabric: Advanced Data Management and Transformation Techniques
    • In Week 3, we will be introduced to advanced data management and pipeline orchestration within Microsoft Fabric. We will learn how to ingest data, create and manage shortcuts, and implement file partitioning for efficient analytics. We will explore the use of functions and stored procedures, and techniques to enrich data by adding new columns and tables. We will also cover data copying and the integration of stored procedures, notebooks, and dataflows into data pipelines. By the end of the week, we will be able to schedule data pipelines, dataflows, and notebooks to automate data processing and transformation within Microsoft Fabric.
  • Microsoft Fabric: Comprehensive Data Transformation and Optimization Techniques
    • Welcome to Week 4. This week, we will be introduced to data transformation and performance optimization techniques within Microsoft Fabric. We will learn to perform data cleansing, denormalize and aggregate data, and merge or join datasets. We will also cover data type conversions, data filtering, and methods to identify performance bottlenecks within SQL Server. By the end of the week, we will be able to resolve issues related to Delta table file sizes and optimize data for efficient analysis within Microsoft Fabric.
  • Microsoft Fabric: Explore, Analyze Data with DAX and Semantic Models
    • Welcome to Week 5. This week, we will be introduced to the shared responsibility model in AWS to secure AI/ML solutions. We will learn to identify and apply security and privacy considerations for AI systems. By the end of the week, we will explore AWS services and features to assist with the governance and security of AI solutions.
