  • Principles and Concepts of Strategic Planning
    • Welcome to the Healthcare Strategy and Innovation course and to Module 1 on Principles and Concepts of Strategic Planning! We start our course by learning about the concept of change so we can understand strategic planning as a dynamic change process. With this understanding, we will distinguish between strategic thinkers, planners, and management—the three dimensions of strategic planning. We will learn about the definitions of other essential concepts, such as mission, vision, values, and strategic leadership. By learning the definitions, we will start developing the skill of navigating strategic planning and change. Let’s get started!
  • Methods to Develop Strategic Plans and Communication Implementation
    • Welcome to Module 2! In this module, we will learn about specific methods and techniques that allow us to ground strategic planning into the reality of practice and align them with the organizational mission, vision, and values, as well as with leadership and governance. These methods and techniques include internal and external environmental assessments, stakeholder reviews, and current performance analysis. We will continue to develop the skill of navigating strategic planning and change by focusing on skills in strategic communication and questioning methods. We will learn how to employ diverse business planning tools such as SWOT, impact analysis, balanced scorecard, dashboard, value-based analysis, and strategic planning templates. Let’s get started!
  • Innovation Principles and Concepts in Healthcare Leadership
    • Welcome to Module 3! In this module, we will learn about the critical importance of innovation in healthcare, highlighting current trends, challenges, and opportunities. We will begin by learning about the most foundational concepts and principles of innovation: Design Thinking, Agile Methods, and Human-Centered Design. Then, we will dive into the various innovation frameworks, methods, and technologies driving advancements in the healthcare field. We will examine case studies and examples of innovations in healthcare. We will conclude this module by learning about emerging digital health innovations, such as Telehealth/Telemedicine, Wearables and Remote Monitoring, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Virtual Nursing, and Hospital Care at Home.   • Informatics in Healthcare
    • Welcome to Module 4, the last module of our course! In this module, we will learn how healthcare leaders can leverage health informatics to introduce innovations in the workplace. We will begin by learning what healthcare informatics is and is not, then move to learn about healthcare systems and tools. We will explore how to evaluate the impact of healthcare informatics and take a peak into the future of this field. By learning about healthcare informatics tools and systems, we will develop the capacity to recognize strategies that improve care, streamline innovation, and enhance data management.
