  • Introduction to Podman
    • In this module, we will provide a comprehensive introduction to Podman, covering the essentials of containerization and its components. You will gain insights into how Podman operates, its architecture, and how it differs from Docker. Through a walkthrough of the Podman documentation, you'll be able to see real-world applications and setup instructions for this tool.
  • Getting Started with Podman
    • In this module, we will walk through the initial setup and installation of Podman on various platforms. You'll learn how to get Podman up and running, explore essential command-line operations, and understand how to navigate Podman Desktop on macOS and Windows. By the end of this section, you'll be ready to start using Podman confidently in your local development environment.
  • Working with Images in Podman
    • In this module, we will dive into the essentials of container images and how they are managed in Podman. You will explore container registries such as Docker Hub and Quay.io, learn how to interact with these registries, and practice managing images through Podman’s powerful CLI. By the end of this section, you will have the skills to efficiently handle container images in your Podman environment.
  • Working with Containers in Podman
    • In this module, we will cover how to work with containers in Podman, from creation to management. You will learn to handle containers via the Podman CLI, including practical demonstrations on running rootless containers, which offer additional security benefits. By the end of this section, you’ll be equipped to efficiently manage containers in a Podman environment.
  • Building Images with Containerfile
    • In this module, we will explore how to build container images using a Containerfile. You will learn how to write and validate a Containerfile, build custom images from it, and run containers using those images. Through hands-on demonstrations, you’ll gain the skills necessary to create your own container images and deploy them efficiently in your environment.
  • Networking in Podman
    • In this module, we will explore how networking functions within Podman, focusing on configuring and managing container networks. You’ll learn how to use Podman commands to create and manage networks, with demonstrations on how to set up networking for both rootful and rootless containers. By the end of this section, you will be able to configure networking for containers in various Podman environments.
  • Volumes in Podman
    • In this module, we will focus on managing data within Podman containers using volumes. You’ll learn about different types of storage options like named volumes and bind mounts, and how to manage them via the Podman CLI. Through hands-on demonstrations, you will see how to persist data within containers to ensure consistent and durable storage, even after containers are stopped or removed.
  • Containerizing Applications (Sample Application)
    • In this module, we will walk through the process of containerizing a sample application. You’ll learn how to write a Containerfile for your application, utilize multi-stage builds for more efficient image creation, and then publish your container images to a registry. Finally, you’ll deploy a real-time application, showcasing the power of Podman in practical scenarios.
  • Pods in Podman
    • In this module, we will explore Pods in Podman, which allow you to manage multiple containers together as a single unit. You’ll learn how to create and manage Pods using Podman’s CLI, and you’ll also see how to access containers within a Pod to simplify your containerized application management. By the end of this section, you’ll be equipped to work efficiently with Pods in Podman.
