Thank you to the University of Valencia for putting out these beginner Spanish courses! I have taken all 3 during quarantine, and along with some of my own studying on the side, I feel like I have learned a lot of the basics of Spanish. The only thing I would change about this particular course was the parts of it that were repeated verbatim from the second course. I did not mind reviewing the grammar topics, but I would have liked to perhaps practice them in different contexts. The best part of this course was the videos and the extensive practice with the past tense. Gracias para este curso; yo aprendí mucho!

As someone who grew up learning Spanish at a Spanish-immersion elementary school, and at home with my mother who is from Mexico, I really wanted to find a course that helped me not so much with basic vocabulary, but with actual sentence structure and grammar, and I think this course definitely provided that. It was nice to have writing, reading, and listening opportunities as that helped the course to be more well rounded. I would definitely recommend this course to those who are looking to further their Spanish grammar skills as though this course does not cover all aspects of grammar, it does offer a concise and helpful basic overview.

I am from India. It was my first course on edX and also first foreign language course. I am happy about my decision. I am thankful to the instructors of the course for designing and conducting this course. The videos and related audio exercises really helped in improving pronunciation, which is very important for non-native Spanish-speakers. Looking forward to improve my Spanish basics and reaching B1/B2 level.

    Highly recommended!!!

Muchas gracias por toda la ayuda. ¡Hasta luego!

I had quite a little knowledge of the Spanish language but was very interested. The course helped me so much and I found it really amazing. All the lecturers did great. I just wished students were still able to communicate with each other directly like before on Google Hangout. I had to take notes because the content is great for a beginner like me. I hoped the Basic Spanish Part 3 exam was a little more tasking though. Gracias por este curso!

I have enjoyed this class very much. I took the other 2 Spanish courses and I am able to understand so much more of the language. However, I felt as though the 2nd course ended rather abruptly and it took a bit of time to get into the 3rd one. By taking these courses, I was introduced to DUO. I use it daily on either the computer or phone. Very easy to download. I give thumbs up for all of the classes !!

Combined with Level 1 and Level 2, Basic Spanish Level 3 gives sufficient knowledge and information in order to be able to read, write and speak elementary Spanish. You can proceed at your own pace, repeat exercises if you wish, and use the material to study on your own time. Thank you to the professors and others who contributed their time and material to produce these three courses.

I learned alot during this course. The book work was great way to introduce rules of the language and spelling to me. I feel like some words should be introduced with the rules on how to use them and what they mean before using them. Overall, I dont have any/many complaints. Thanks for sharing the knowledge. This is how you make the world a better place.

I learned so much in this course. Subject matters are well explained. It contains objective and multiple choices exercises and tests to practice what you learned. (No peer graded exercises. Yes!) It teaches or talks about both Spanish and Latin-American Spanish (but mostly Spanish.) I highly recommend this course.

very useful class. I've been learning Spanish for about 1 year. I recently found these classes on edX and took all 3 levels for beginner. The class structured very well and was easy to follow. I wish you can provide different levels spanish classes as well.

The exercises are made in a very interesting way. You can learn different grammar and practice it in. You can learn a new vocabulary. And everything is on your own pace, which is ideal if you are working or studying and limited in a free time.

I really enjoyed this online course because of clear explanations, numerous exercises, videos - and general course flow. I have been studying Spanish in Prague for four months and really needed to revise and practice what I have learnt in the classroom. This course reinforced what I kind of knew - and gave me more confidence in the classroom.

It is an interactive course. I learned a lot of things, especially the usage of grammar that seems incomprehensible to me initially. I would highly recommend anyone who is interested in Spanish to take this course.
