The course is informational and planned in a structured way. It could use some more elaboration and current industry standards in depth.
The last module where we have to submit 2 papers, needs to be reviewed by 2 other peers, and this is where am stuck. Unfortunately, i believe there are no other candidates taking this course and hence my paper is not being evaluated and instead of completed the course well within the time frame, the timeline is automatically pushed forward. And also my certificate is stuck.
this issue needs to be resolved.

The Course was exposing. It was also detailed as to the inherent risks within a FINTECH and how to manage same within the context of the firm's risk appetite.

My only suggestion is that, the final project is solely peer-graded. I think the professor should just take few minutes to review as well.

    Overall, the course was great.

I expected the focus of the course to be on risks that the FINTECH firms or firms dealing in FINTECH are exposed to e.g. legal, regulatory, compliance, fraud or systems risks for firms dealing in Crypto or block-chain or those involved in crowd-funding or P2P lending.

Unfortunately the focus was mainly on the common operational risks faced by the . Worse was the selection of using an incident of fire. How is this even related to FINTECH? The categorization of controls among preventative and detective was not right and Fire insurance wass shown as a control when it is a risk transfer mechanism.

I have taken close to 20 courses on coursera and this is the first one I am very dissapponted to rate that low.

Great course. The teachers are well prepared and explained every topic very well. A quick guide to regulatory and IT risks related to Fintech. It was good lecture on Basel guidelines too which was explained in very simple way citing incidents & events. Detailed lectures on other topics also which explained the Risk Management and Mitigation techniques. All lectures were descriptive and supported with all the information regarding risk with case studies. Very useful and very much needed for everyone who need in-depth knowledge about Fintech and risk management. Good for Bank professional and Financial consultants. Thanks to Prof Percy and Prof. Clark for putting together such good work.

Professor Clark was exceptional in his lectures. However, in lectures by Professor Percy, he seemed to be in a hurry to rush things up. It was often an issue that he skipped the slide material without explaining it and majority of the times, his accent was a problem when he spoke very low, missing few words in the process.

I understand that English is not the first language of the professor but neither is mine and i feel that it needs to be taken care of as it impacts the course he is teaching. It hampers the experience that the students get.

Other than that, everything was great!!

The course is of interest. The only thing, it would seem to me that overstated attention was paid to IT technologies, although in my opinion it is still an economic, banking, managerial, and finally legal course. Discussions about fire extinguishers were very original (I myself was a firefighter at a certain stage of my career ...). I am having some confusion about the formatting of the quiz in the last two modules of this course. Nobody else noticed this ...?

    Overall, thanks to the professor.

In this module (week one), students will gain a multi-dimensional perspective on what FinTech means from the perspective of large firms (and older participants in the industry - e.g. dinosaurs), entrepreneurs, investors, and consumers. Examining what FinTech is, or is not, provides a foundations upon which students can build for better understanding of opportunities and changes.

This was a comprehensive course. Very specially Business Continutity plan was very well explained. As a sugestion I recomend to include more technical aspects such as risk from malware etc in a detailed manner. Also the user frindlyness of peer review process should be improved.

This is generally good course on Fintech and FI, albeit on introductory basis; Week 4 on Risk Management is really low-tech, say backups are using tapes and CD, and in general is using dated materials. Otherwise, the course is nice intro and refresher on the area.
