Whether you’re a workplace educator or looking to enter the industry of andragogy, it’s important to know how adults learn to be able to adapt your teaching methods.

This four-week course provides an introduction to adult teaching and will help you discover key skills and knowledge to create engaging lessons.

You’ll explore ways you can make teaching fun, interactive, and inclusive as you explore student-centred learning approaches you can use with your adult learners.

Understand how to use inquiry-based learning

You’ll identify the key factors in andragogy to understand its differences so you can create lessons suited to your learner.

You’ll explore what makes an effective teacher as you learn student-centred approaches to teaching and how to work with groups of learners. You’ll also understand inquiry-based learning (IBL) to help inspire your students and promote engagement.

Improve your teaching skills alongside experts at Wintec

With your understanding of different teaching techniques, you’ll learn how to apply these skills to real-life teaching scenarios.

Guided by the experts at Waikato Institute of Technology (Wintec), you’ll reflect on the ways you can use effective methods in your future teaching – either in workplace training, professional development, or a career in andragogy.

This course is designed for new or beginner trainers and facilitators working in either a formal education setting or the workplace.

It will help you develop key knowledge and skills for teaching or training adults.
