Overview
This activity will train physicians how to use the new electronic medical records system, which will provide better support of patient care.
In this training, participants will learn how to review the inpatient chart, write orders and notes, update the problem list, while consulting on, admitting, and discharging patients.
Syllabus
At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:
- Identify the “In Basket” for any messages that may need participant’s attention;
- Locate a patient chart in the electronic medical records system;
- Select relevant information from a patient’s chart;
- Create a patient note for the specific condition or situation (i.e., progress notes, procedure notes, delivery notes);
- Respond to any abnormal results (labs, x-rays, etc.) per institutional policy;
- Enter orders for a patient.
