I undertook this course by chance, but now I can really treasure how much I have learnt into the world of AI, even though it was very basic and preliminary! It's just the beginning of a long journey, but once our spark is ignited by it's flavour and course...

The overall and weekly course objectives were stated clearly, much more clearly than many other courses I have explored.

The course had lots of reading, including extra links to other pages. There were no videos. Each chapter’s material consisted of three pages, but they were long pages full of comprehensive information. It was an excellent introduction to just what AI is and the implications in today's society of the many applications of AI both now and into the future. The assessments were unforgiving, with only one attempt available for most questions. I made basic mistakes in some answers but managed to pass the course quite comfortably.

I found the course surprisingly interesting!

On my quest to understand and explore the world of data-science, I found the course, Elements of AI, in a Medium post about top 20 courses for data-science beginners. I started right away. I found the lessons to be exclusively written for beginners with...

The course covered the basics with lots of exercises. Many of the exercises were designed to evaluate how well the student understood the concepts, rather than whether the student had just read the material. I particularly liked how the course demystified AI by linking it to past concepts and theories. New ideas are often presented out of context (both in terms of related ideas and how the concepts are used) which makes understanding them and their relevance more difficult.

I look forward to additional courses in the series.

I like the kind of awareness this course provides, helping everyone from different works of life to see how they can relate in the fields of AI. One of the most simple, non-boring, good material content, captivating free online certification course ever. Thought at first I will not have enough time to take the course because of my kind of schedule but when I started, just with my mobile phone, I couldn't let the course down. The most exciting part was wanting to see what your peers think about your review and waiting for your certificate.

I think it was an interesting course and something I have been searching for. I already had some pre-knowledge about AI, but this course put it into a better context and made me think critical about certain aspects of AI. One example where I got more...

I really liked the way the course material was set up. It introduced me, as a stranger to the subject, in a humble way to and let involved me in the world of AI basics in a very nice way. The self-administered progress has also suited me well. As a full...

This is a great beginner course to artificial intelligence because it offers interesting insights with a critical touch to it. As presented in the course, the topic is yet remarkably vague and most so-called "facts" are nothing but guesses and speculations....

First of all I'd like to say I've been very lucky to read an article about this course I had never heard about before. The Finnish initiative should really be praised and set an example to other EU members. About the course itself it's meant as a basic...

I just finished the course and here are some of my thoughts. As a humanities major and someone who always had a problem with numbers, this course was much harder than I expected -- in a good way though. If you're having a hard time, please take out a...

The course for me was too chatty meaning that the text was full of irrelevant sentences. Despite the fact that those sentences were on-topic, they were more like decorations rather than giving more in-depth information. In addition, there should have...

I'm currently a TESOL teacher. However, as AI is gradually invading our lives, it's inevitable for me not to learn to know it.

I took this course according to a fellow teacher at my academy. He told me that nobody can explain everything to me and I should take an AI course. I can learn it bit by bit. He introduced this Helsinki's course to me. I started to register and learn it online. It was wonderful and helped me to understand something other experts said in an AI meeting. This is great course and suitable for everyone, especially non-technical or non-engineering staff members and ordinary people.

I liked the course Elements of AI. I follow it and completed it in few weeks, just to see what it offers. I'm Professor in the University and I was just curious to see how the course is presented and with which content. I found it pleasant and accessible and really up to date in its content.
I have to focus on the format adopted for course pages and exercises, I would like to say the font, colors etc. it is really fun and motivating to continue the course to the end.
I recommend this course to every one who is interested in knowing more about AI of today and near tomorrow.

Wow! The course was really enlightening. I really learnt a lot and even though i did not study Computer or AI courses in college, i was still able to catch up and flow along. By God's grace i made a 95% out of 100%. I'm so much happy for this. It was a beautiful experience. Spectrum forum also helped a lot. Thanks to everyone who has a hand in this. A very big thank you to Reaktor, University of Helsinki and the government of Finland for the opportunity and for making it free. I will be happy and willing to join in for the upcoming courses. Also, the links provided at the end of the course for continued learning are helpful. Thanks a lot.

In my opinion this course is perfect.
First because is very clearly written which is of paramount importance for people like me which mother tongue is not English, so we don’t get lost in lexical and grammatical complexity.
Second because it avoid entering deeper in mathematical formulas and algorithms and programming language which will make it impossible to follow for some of us.
Thence the course make a very good effort in teaching the general introduction of such a complex matter in only six chapters , which I think is a tremendous task.
