This course begins with a look at current, long-term and contingent liabilities and learn how to account for a bond issue over its entire life. We’ll then look at the background on Stockholder’s Equity and then dives into the types of equity. We’ll also cover cash dividends, preferred stocks, and employee stock options.

Next, we’ll dive into an understanding of Free Cash and learn how to distinguish between Free Cash Flow to the Firm and Free Cash to equity. We’ll also learn how to distinguish between the U.S. GAAP and IAS GAAP for various cash flow items.

This course begins with an overview of corporate investments, short term and long-term investments, and helps you to prepare consolidated financial statements.

This course begins with an explanation of the role of adjustments in accrual accounting and covers the difference between explicit and implicit transactions. We’ll look at the components of a Classified Balance Sheet and learn how to prepare a Classified Balance Sheet as well as a Multiple-step Income Statements.

This course also looks at revenue recording and revenue measurement issues and teaches how to estimate bad debts using the allowance method.

We’ll wrap up the course with a look at the concept of the statement of cash flows and learn how to distinguish among Cash flow from Operations, Financing and Investing.

We’ll begin this course with a look at inventory and learn how to link inventory valuation to gross profit. We’ll also explore the four principal inventory valuation methods and assess the pros and cons of each inventory valuation method. Next, we’ll learn how to measure the cost of long-lived assets and distinguish between expenses and capitalized items. We’ll learn how to compute depreciation under various depreciation methods and explain the effect of depreciation on cash flow. We’ll also learn how to compute gains and losses on disposal of fixed assets as well as account for the impairment of tangible assets.

Next, we’ll look at the concept of deferred taxes and learn how to distinguish between a deferred tax asset and liability. This course also teaches you on how to compute the value of a deferred tax liability and explains when and why a deferred tax liability would be considered an equity item.
