Leadership is an important part of a successful Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) programme. These skills can affect positive change in an IPC team, other leaders and health care staff, and lead to sustainable IPC programmes. In order to develop a sustainable programme, IPC leaders must have good project management and risk assessment skills and understanding of implementation strategies.
