This presentation is a recording of a Stanford Pediatric Grand Rounds Session. World-renowned experts will present the latest research, practice guidelines, and treatment protocols to advance best practices in the care of pediatric patients. These online recordings will provide pediatricians and family physicians with up-to-date clinical information on a wide range of clinical issues encountered in daily pediatric practice.
In this session we will be using three large, recently conducted, NIH-sponsored clinical trials, evidenced-based management strategies in young children with acute otitis media (treatment, appropriate duration of treatment and management of recurrent acute otitis media) will be addressed. This session highlights methodological similarities of these trials, stringency of diagnostic criteria and follow-up, role of nasopharyngeal colonization, as well as future research related to improved treatment options and artificial intelligence for diagnosing acute otitis media.
