In this quest, you will get hands-on practice running Microsoft's ASP.net (web app framework) on Google Cloud. ASP.NET is an open-source and cross-platform framework for building modern cloud-based and internet-connected applications using the C# programming language.

Syllabus

  • Build and Launch an ASP.NET Core App from Google Cloud Shell
    • In this lab, you’ll learn how to build and launch an ASP.NET Core app from Google Cloud Shell -- without ever leaving the browser.
  • Deploy Windows Server with ASP.NET Framework to Compute Engine
    • In this lab you will learn how to create a virtual machine with Windows Server and the ASP.NET framework installed. Then you will create a Windows user and password and learn how to remote desktop into the Windows Server.
  • Deploy an ASP.NET Core App to App Engine
    • In this lab, you will deploy a simple ASP.NET Core app to App Engine Flexible environment. This lab builds on the "Build and Launch an ASP.NET Core app from Google Cloud Shell" lab.
  • Deploy ASP.NET Core App to Kubernetes Engine
    • In this lab, you learn how to turn your ASP.NET Core code into a Docker container image, and then run that image as a replicated application running on Kubernetes on Google Container Engine (GKE).
  • Deploy ASP.NET Core App to Google Kubernetes Engine with Istio
    • In this lab, you learn how to deploy your ASP.NET Core app to Google Kubernetes Engine with Istio.
