Javascript for beginners: Getting started

Syllabus

  • Project Overview
    • In this 1-hour long project-based course on Javascript Fundamentals: Getting started, you will write your own Javascript code to understand the core inner workings of how the Javascript compiler deals with your code. How should we write it to tell the computer to do what we want it to? These paradigms are different in programming to how we logically think in real life. Our goal in this project is to work through a logical path in Javascript so we better comprehend how the system is processing what we write. You will write your own programs to understand the most common Javascript programming concepts including assigning variables, data, how Javascript stores variables in memory and how this is used, operators: (+, -, *, **, /, %, ++, --), conditionals and how a function works. This course is designed for any person working or who intends to work with Javascript, or just become more familiar with more Javascript tools and libraries. This is a beginner level course and is designed for an individual who is familiar with programming but doesn’t have hands-on experience with Javascript. Note: This course works best for learners who are based in the North America region. We’re currently working on providing the same experience in other regions.
