This course from the Stanford NGSS Assessment Project (SNAP) is designed to guide participants step-by-step in using SNAP's tools for developing 3-dimensional performance assessments. Participants will learn SNAP's procedures for defining performance outcomes, selecting phenomena, and developing a task to meet a set of criteria for high-quality assessment. Participants will have opportunities at two crucial points during the course to engage in a peer feedback process with another development team.
This course follows a hybrid format designed to support groups of colleagues learning together. It is important to note that the format is slightly different from SNAP Course 1. In this course, instruction is delivered through three video sessions and the videos guide development teams (groups of 2-3 colleagues) step-by-step through SNAP's process of developing performance assessments. This means that the group members watch the videos together and develop the task while they watch. The face-to-face meetings are when two or more development teams get together to give feedback to each other.
