इस लघु फिल्म में लड़कियों से संबंधित स्वास्थ शिक्षा और विवाह जैसे मुख्य विषयों के बारे में जानकारी दी गई है। यह भी कहा गया है कि हमारे जीवन और लड़कों और लड़कियों के समान महत्व है। इसमें किशोर अवस्था के तीन चरणों की भी जानकारी दी गई है। कहा गया है कि किशोर अवस्था में शारीरिक, मानसिक और बौद्धिक विकास तेज़ी से होता है। खास तौर पर लडकियों के शारीरिक परिवर्तनों का विस्तार से वर्णण किया गया है। किशोर अवस्था की लड़कियों के लिए खान-पान के महत्व, लडकियों में पाई जाने वाली खून की कमी, खून की कमी के लक्षणों, उनकी पहचान के तरीकों आदि का भी विवरण दिया गया है। इसके अलावा खून की कमी दूर करने के लिए आवश्यक पोषक तत्वों, हरी पत्तेदार सब्जियों आदि का सेवन करने के बारे में मार्गदर्शन किया गया है। साथ ही फलों की पर्याप्त सेवन करने, फाइबर युक्त पदार्थ और अन्य खाद्यान्नों का सेवन करने की सलाह देकर खाद्य पदार्थों को पकाने की विधियाँ बताई गई है। युवतियों के लिए माहवारी, हार्मोन का असंतुलन जैसी स्थितियों का वर्णण करते हुए माहवारी के दौरान बरतने योग्य साफ-सफाई और चिकित्सक से परामर्श करने की भी सलाह दी गई है। इसके अतिरिक्त सरकार द्वारा बालिकाओं, किशोरियों, युवतियों और महिलाओं के लिए केद्र सरकार की ओर से चलाई जा रही विभिन्न योजनाओं की भी जानकारी दी गई है

ICMR - National Institute of Nutrition

Dr.Hemalathagraduated (MBBS) and obtained an MD from Gandhi Medical College, Hyderabad, Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences, Andhra Pradesh. Currently she is the Director of ICMR-National Institute of Nutrition, Hyderabad. Sheled the seminal work on Nutrient requirements- the RDAs and EARs for Indians; for the first time the Nutrient recommendations include the Estimated Average Requirements (EAR) and also the Tolerable Upper Limits (TUL) of nutrients alongside RDAs. The fortification strategies, food labelling, supplementation programs are based on these recommendations. She also spearheaded ‘My Plate for the Day’ which provides food-based guidelines for meeting micro and macronutrient requirements to prevent undernutrition and NCDs. As part of the Poshan Abhiyan initiative she developed 14 E-learning modules aimed at empowering adolescents, young adults, Anganwadi teachers, ASHA workers and the general public.Sheis also serving as the President of the Nutrition Society of India and as the Executive Council Member of the Federation of Asian Nutrition Societies (FANS).


Dr. M. Raja Sriswan, joined ICMR -National Institute of Nutrition as a senior research fellow (SRF) in 2008. As an SRF, he worked in the Hyderabad Dexa study under Dr. Hannah Kuper (London school of hygiene and tropical medicine, United Kingdom) and Dr. K.V Radhakrishna (then a senior scientist in the Clinical Division, NIN). He has also been the in charge medical officer for Nutrition ward (run by ICMR-NIN) at Niloufer hospital, a tertiary care hospital in Hyderabad. He has worked in the area of stunting, severe acute malnutrition, infant and young child feeding practices (IYCF) and cardiovascular diseases. His interests also include reproducible research based on R Programming software and dietary collection tools. He also did an internship at IIT-Kharagpur in 2016 for mobile and web based dietary collection tools.
