This course on Basic Instructional Methods will prepare the participants (means teachers or potential teachers) to understand the issues related to general principles, pedagogy and management strategies used for instruction to facilitate learning. Instruction involves the activities performed by the teacher externally to promote internal process of learning for achieving the intended learning outcomes. For any given learning outcome, teachers may choose among a wide range of instructional methods, and effective teachers look for an appropriate match between the content to be taught and strategies for teaching that content. The selection of effective instructional method(s) depends on many factors, such as learning outcomes, group size, its level, and time available, etc. This course is intended to provide an exposure to various instructional methods through video lectures, , text content, discussion forum, assignments, and self-assessment tools. Summative assessment will make the participant earn the credit and course completion certificate.

Module-3: Instructional Methods for developing Practical Outcomes
  • Introduction to Methods for developing Practical Outcomes, Laboratory Work, Workshop Method, Industry/Field Visit, Project Work
Module-4: Student Centred Interactive methods
  • Introduction to Student Centred Interactive methods, Tutorial Method, SeminarMethod, Assignment Method
Module-5: Selecting Instructional Methods using Logical Approach
  • Selection of Instructional Strategy and Methods, Instructional Session Plan
