Overview

The course “Learning and Teaching” focuses on developing an understanding of psychological and socio-cultural perspective of learning, learning theories and factors facilitating learning. This course is facilitating trainee teachers in identifying appropriate learning strategies for facilitating construction of knowledge and also helping them reflect on their role as an innovator and action researcher. The course will be offered in 16 weeks (04 months). e-text, videos and discussion forum will be essential part. Few live sessions will also be organized in synchronous mode for interaction and resolving the doubt. There will be a compulsory weekly quiz. Quiz/assignment and term-end examination will be part of formal assessment for the course. Course Credit 4

    I have joined BES 123: Teaching and Learning course as a part of pre PhD course work. I am finding the course very informative and useful as it is giving clear understanding of various concepts of learning theories, strategies, methods etc. The explanations done by Dr. Gaurav Singh and other dignitaries through videos, the texts provided, various links to explore more about the related topics are very useful.
    The quizzes which are given at every week make us read or listen each and every topic carefully so that we can attempt the questions successfully.

    I really enjoyed the online course. I thought it was well planned and layed out, easy for me to follow. The work load(h.w. & test)was just enough, so i could finish everything with enough time, learn about the topics and not feel over loaded and rushed.
