This course may be unavailable.

This course explores basic principles of User Experience Design. It takes a human-centered approach where design is at the service of meeting the users' needs.  It also proposes that anyone can be a designer because design is a data driven process. Learners are shown the 4 Step Design Cycles (Requirements Gathering, Designing Alternatives, Prototyping and Evaluation).  It also presents techniques that will allow the budding designer to develop artifacts that are efficient, effective and satisfying to the user.

This course is an introduction to the area of Human Computer Interaction.  It shows students the first two steps in the design cycle of user interface design: requirement gathering and design alternatives. Students will be exposed to techniques that lead to better designs: task analyses, personas and scenarios, etc.
