The English as a Second Language (ESL) program aims to help students improve their English language abilities and equip them to be successful in their studies and careers. This non-degree, non-credit bearing program is made up of eight levels of proficiency and students will be placed at the best level for them based on their personal experience. After reaching the highest-level students will take the Oxford Test of English to prove their competency in English. Similar to our other programs, students will be asked to pay an assessment fee of $130 at the end of each course, however, the University may provide scholarships to students who are unable to pay this fee.
The objective of the English as a Second Language program is to improve the level of an English learner. The ESL classes teach different English language skills, according to the English ability of the students, interest, and needs. Students are assigned a level that corresponds to their individual needs. All programs teach the following: grammar, reading, comprehension, writing, and vocabulary.
