Overview

Natural Medicinal Chemistry is a core compulsory course for pharmacy majors. It is highly theoretical and practical, closely related to courses such as Organic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, and Spectral Analysis. This course provides foundational knowledge for the research and development of traditional Chinese medicine and natural medicines. The course introduces the structural characteristics, physical and chemical properties, and methods of extraction, separation, and purification of natural medicinal compounds, mainly focusing on biological activities or bioactive components. The course will be taught entirely online in English, incorporating examples of Chinese herbal medicines, natural medicines, and marine drugs from Guangxi and ASEAN regions.
