This course provides an introduction to Actuarial Mathematics 1 and covers topics such as the Time Value of Money, Interest Rates, Life Tables, Life Assurance Contracts, Reversionary Annuities, Complex Conditions and other related topics. It also helps students to build up their Microsoft Excel and Word skills, with lectures examining the use of software to solve relevant exam examples. This course provides an in-depth analysis of actuarial science, and emphasizes on the development of both theoretical concepts and their application to real-world situations. It also provides a strong groundwork in the Force of Interest, Time Dependent Force of Interest and how to calculate Lifetime Random Variables.
