Overview
This seminar explores how primordial black holes, if they constitute a fraction of cosmological dark matter, could efficiently capture other dark matter species shortly after their collapse. Julien Lavalle from Laboratoire Univers et Particules de Montpellier demonstrates that the formation of compact dark matter spikes around black holes is a linear process during the radiation-domination epoch, which can be predicted almost entirely through analytical methods. Learn about scale invariant solutions describing compact dark matter halos with varying profile indices that depend on black hole and particle masses, as well as the kinetic decoupling time of particles. The presentation examines how these findings can translate into mutual exclusion limits if dark matter particles can self-annihilate, highlighting significant implications for future observations if either dark matter candidate is discovered.
