This course provides an introduction to the Lua programming language and its application in the Love2D game engine. It covers core topics such as the structure of Lua programs, functions, conditionals, loops, and user input. Throughout the course, students will have the opportunity to construct a classic Snake game from the from the ground-up, featuring collision detection, dynamic scoring, and other key features. A portion of the course is also devoted to Lua’s integration with Love2D and network programming. Finally, the course concludes with an exploration of multithreading and the implementation of UDP networking, allowing students to craft sophisticated applications out of the Lua and Love2D development environment.
