Overview
In this General Relativity Seminar, Rudolf Zeidler from the Mathematical Institute at the University of Münster presents his research on positive scalar curvature with point singularities. Explore a topological construction of positive scalar curvature metrics with uniformly Euclidean (L^∞) point singularities that provides counterexamples to a conjecture by Schoen. Learn how these metrics with uniformly Euclidean point singularities cannot be smoothed via geometric flow while preserving non-negativity of scalar curvature. The presentation is based on recent joint work with Simone Cecchini and Georg Frenck, offering insights into advanced mathematical concepts at the intersection of differential geometry and general relativity.
