Overview

This course is one of the 5 courses of an introductory business information systems series, designed to introduce you to the amazing world of Information Technology.

The series of courses is designed so that a professional in a field outside the information technologies (financial, administrative or managerial) acquires the basic knowledge in Information Technology to be able to interact more profitably with the computer and telecommunications specialists of your company or other corporations with which you are related, being able to specify requirements, evaluate workloads and monitor results in a much more effective way.

The syllabus of the series is based on the CLEP Information Systems and Computer Applications exam.

In this course, you will learn the basic concepts of information systems and their application.

By completing the series of 5 courses, you will be prepared to interact effectively with specialists in the Information Technology sector (and pass the CLEP ISCA exam if you wish

I really enjoyed the first course, I will be doing the remaining four courses soon, the course I completed is practical and lot of information about IT. I will put into practice what I have learned and apply to my working place, the final test questions were very tricky but I'm happy I made it.

It is very useful IT introduction course for non-IT professional. The course also provides some useful information that out there are available open source to use for our daily personal and business need in related software.

It is a very basic course about IT. There is a lot of great introductory information to understand the basics of most of the tools that we use in our computers. Also, it is very helpful for employees who need to understand how companies are working today in terms of their software.

I don't give the course a 5 star rating because their english level is moderate. In some cases it is really difficult to understand what they are saying and the text next to the video is 75% accurate according to what the are saying. Also, there are some questions in the weekly tests that I haven't found a specific answer in the videos. In some cases, they are very tricky.

I do like how the summarize the important aspects of the introductory subjects. However, the course should have an english native speaker as a copywriter, otherwise it is just a moderate spanish-english translation.

for some reasons that even if I had a bachelor degree in EE, I still was not aware of the difference between IT and software programming, yet I have been learning IT knowledge here and there in past decade but never systematically. This course perfectly taught me all around necessary knowledge about IT, which I will use for my future startup. So many thanks to edx website that still make most of courses totally free! good for people like me who is hard to control my time, but still have a strong desire to learn things whenever possible.

If you had already any contact to various IT systems this course is easy to manage. It took me just 2 days to run through the program and pass all tests successfully. Sometimes video/sound quality of the speakers was a bit poor. But all in all I appreciated the course since it also gave me some new insights that I wasn't aware about before. I will continue to pass also the other elements of this series.

A fantastic IT introductory course for any non-IT professional. It would also prove very useful for those already running or aspire to run their own business.
