In 2025, the Open edX Conference moves to Europe, taking place from July 1 to 4 at Telecom Paris, Polytechnic Institute of Paris, in France. This marks a special year as the conference will be co-hosted with EMOOCs 2025, which runs from June 30 to July 2. Attendees who purchase the bundled ticket option will enjoy expanded networking and learning opportunities across both events.

The event will explore this year’s theme: “Leveraging the Power of Open Source to Democratize Education and Fuel Advances in Learning.” It aims to bring together educators, developers, and technology leaders from around the world to discuss how open-source technology is expanding access to impactful learning experiences, with a focus on the Open edX platform.

Registrations are currently open with tickets ranging from $149 to $499. A special bundled ticket option is available for those wishing to attend both the Open edX Conference and EMOOCs 2025.

Program & Keynote Speakers

The program spans four days with a variety of sessions:

• July 1: Interactive workshops for hands-on learning, followed by a cocktail reception with EMOOCs participants
• July 2-3: Keynotes and presentations from leading innovators and educators
• July 4: Open edX Town Hall featuring key initiatives and collaborative sessions

The conference will feature two distinguished keynote speakers presenting on July 2:

• Dr. Ángel Cabrera, President of the Georgia Institute of Technology, a pioneer in online education who has led Georgia Tech to record-breaking achievements while advancing innovation and social responsibility in higher education.
• Professor Mairéad Pratschke, a global authority on digital education and AI with 25 years of experience, who will share insights on how generative AI and platforms like the Open edX LMS can transform digital education, lifelong learning, and workforce development.
