The scope of the course is impressive and is covered fairly concisely. The videos are the typical being talked to lectures and could be considered a little one dimensional. However, the additional material - both that in the course and the bonus content - is reasonable varied and interesting.
My major concern is that the course contains very little criticism of the institutions of Christianity. For instance there is frequent reference to corruption, but this is never explored as an issue. And virtually every individual mentioned is described as extraordinary. However, if you can accept this, then the course is well worth taking, especially if you have a limited knowledge of the workings of the Church during the period covered and are interested in the history of that time.
