Overview

The Economics Behind 2020 in One Minute. This course consists of 45 brief one minute explanations covering a range of economic and financial topics, from the Great Depression to the 2020 Global Economic Crisis. Students will gain an overview of famous historical events, such as the Tulipomania, Great Recession and Enron scandal, as well as an understanding of key economic theories and processes, from Say's Law to the Marshall Plan. They will be able to analyse and compare the effects of capitalism and socialism, the importance of the US Dollar and Bitcoin, and the direct impacts of WWI and WWII. The course will also cover current issues, such as the Rich getting richer, corporate welfare and US stimulus payments, and discuss different scenarios taking into account the grave situation of 2020.
