Copyright for Educators (K-12/HE)

I really appreciate that their a course here in Canvas that discusses and teaches about what copyright is, because now that we are in the 21st Century, we tend to take everything for granted such as sets of knowledge and information. All of them are just one click away, and at times because of that all-access freedom, we usually forgot to give credit or at least acknowledge our sources and see everything as a "free real estate". I definitely learned a lot and this course really clarified all my confusions and uncertainties in regards to topics like this especially on how fundamental this is, be it on my academic and personal life and integrity.

So, thank you very much and I appreciate it.

It was thorough and very interesting. It will definitely help me in the graduate class that I am currently taking. It will also help me when I take the copyright course. This course gave new insightful methods to reach students in a world that loves to post, share and get likes. It gave me practical ideas and ways to reach students on their level.
Research is even more important today and needs to be done without forgetting who the creator is -- especially when it may be someone's livelihood. Ethical thought through this course with examples and lesson ideas gave way plans to use this course while teaching my research classes this semester.

Very informative class. I now have a clear understanding of copyright and fair use. I also have some tools to help teach this to my students and to my peers. I teach at the college level as well and intent to use the information from this class to help my college students understand the laws and guidelines of copyright and fair use.

It was great and I learned a lot of new good information to share with students. This course will be very useful when creating projects and displaying information in my classroom. Students will need to understand the importance of copyright and how it can affect their work and the work of others who have put in time and effort. They deserve the right to their copyright rights as well as anyone.

This course has excellent examples that you can apply almost immediately to your class. They are age appropriate and on target with students' actual behavior. If you need ideas on how to teach copyright vs plagiarism to your students, this is a great source.

Copyright is something that is an important thing that we should learn and familiarize ourselves with. Especially if you are a student, a teacher, or a speaker or writer. Having in-depth knowledge about it is truly a helpful one.

I would say that the discussion part really helped me to have more knowledge about copyright. The lessons themselves are comprehensive and clear which helps me to understand them more since this is self-paced learning. Additionally, the activities are manageable since the questions are based on the discussion part. So, it would be easy for me to grasp the lesson. The questions or activities are manageable too.

It is an interesting course to be taken as a professional Development for educators.
Many students nowadays become lazy in a way that they prefer plagiarize other people’s work than strive to do their own work. Since it is illegal, it is important for educators to have such training in order to be able to sensitize their students about the importance of copyright.
The course itself was wonderful, it covered almost all important information an educator needs to know so far. I will recommend this course to all educators to beneficiate from it full rich content.

I found that this course was helpful for me so I can better understand what Copyright is and how to help my students understand the importance of following those rules.

This course is very important to our daily lives as teachers. The reason why is: we use various materials from the internet and they are protected by copyright law.; if we do not know we would be braking the law. In adition lerming the cretive commons, public domain and fair use are the most important because we can use those internet materials without braking the law and teach that as well.

The Copyright for Educators' course contains viable information for navigating not only the basics of Copyright but also Fair Use. The examples of how or if the Four Factors used to determine if a violation of Fair Use has occurred were informative as well as easy to understand.

This course helped me understand the why of copyright. Fostering creativity is the basis for copyright law. Understanding this along with Fair Use, which was explained in the course, helped increase my understanding of copyright, why we have it, and ways to use it in order to foster creativity. The four pillars of Fair Use: The purpose of use, nature of the copyrighted work, how much is used, and the market value of the work all matter. When these things are thought over when we use someone's work it helps to understand if we are following the law as it pertains to copyright. Introducing Creative Commons was also helpful. I like the videos and the examples given.

I enjoyed learning the difference between the different copyrights as well as my rights. This course can help so many in K-12 as well as higher education. Expectations of the student should also be expected of the faculty memeber.

It was a fascinating course. It provided me with the basic about copyright. To be honest, I wanted it to be a larger training, because the way it was taught made the content easy to digest.
