Overview

This activity is for people who have or know someone who has ulcerative colitis (UC). The goal of this patient education activity is for you to learn about individualized treatment options that minimize steroid use and maximize disease remission and promote improved medication adherence and satisfaction with therapy by encouraging you to engage with your physician for more shared decision-making in your treatment plan. Syllabus

At the conclusion of this activity, patients will learn:

  • Identify available treatment options,
  • Identify various plans for treatment,
  • Navigate the impact of day-to-day symptoms or treatment side effects,
  • Determine when to alert the health care team to side effects experienced with treatment,
  • Identify alternative treatment options with the health care team when current therapy becomes challenging (eg, treatment adherence/compliance).
