Dartmouth Health Continuing Education for Professionals Home, Medicine Grand Rounds - Medical Consequences of Climate Change, 10/29/2021 8:00:00 AM - 10/29/2024 9:00:00 AM, Participants in Medicine Grand Rounds will be able to identify the most current treatment guidelines, innovations, and standards of practice, and apply them to improve the care of individual patients, promote health and wellness in the population, and achieve clinical quality and safety goals. These educational activities are grounded in principles of health equity, evidence based medicine, inter-professional teamwork, patient-centered care, and respect for human dignity.

About our Presenter
Dr. Douglas DeLong is the immediate past Chief of the Division of General Internal Medicine at Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown, New York and an Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine in the College of Physicians and Surgeons at Columbia University. He is the Emeritus past Chair of the American College of Physicians (ACP) Board of Regents, and former Chair of the ACP Board of Governors. He is a contributing author to multiple ACP position papers, including the 2016 Position Paper on Climate Change and Health. 

Learning Outcome(s)

Participants will be able to discuss the evidence for climate change, its consequences for health of the population, and potential actions to mitigate and/or adapt to direct and indirect health related impacts.
