Overview

Structured Query Language (SQL) is a standardized programming language used to manage relational databases and perform various operations on their data. This is the second course in a two-part series. The second portion of the course covers referential integrity and structured query language (SQL). You will learn how to use SQL statements “SELECT,” “FROM,” “WHERE,” and “JOINS.” These SQL statements will help you filter, compare, and analyze the data in your database. You will learn how to implement basic processing functionalities to create new structured database environments and analyze the results of queries constructed to address data requirements.

Syllabus

Module One -Referential Integrity and the Structured Query Language

Introduction to fundamental concepts of the relational data model and properties of a table, constraints of a relational model, and basic functions and applications of SQL.

Module Two - Project Part 2/Sandbox

As part of the sandbox, setting up schemas with data types, practicing SQL, and improving skills through the project.

Module Three - SQL Continued

Introduction to classification of database management systems, including a centralized system, a homogeneous distributed system, and other database management system types.

Module Four -Complete Project/Sandbox

As part of sandbox, set-up a schema with the Airport data then a separate schema with the World data, this will help you gain extra practice and confirm your understanding of your SQL skills.
