Introduction to Environmental Science

via StraighterLine

Overview

You’ll start by learning to use the scientific method to understand the environment. You’ll study ecosystems on both land and water. You’ll examine factors that determine the health of or threats to species populations and biodiversity. You’ll analyze natural and human activity as it impacts the environment, weather and climate: energy consumption, alternative energy sources, forests and conservation, urbanization, food production and pest control, and pollution. Finally, you’ll correlate what you’ve learned with economics, environment and policy, including waste management and other health issues.
