Overview

This course aims to help participants recognize and assess pain in nonverbal children with intellectual disabilities. By the end of the course, learners will be able to define and measure pain behaviors, apply individualized approaches to describing pain severity, and involve caregivers in pain assessment and management. The teaching method includes a review of pain assessment scales, case examples, and collaborative approaches. This course is intended for healthcare clinicians and providers caring for children with intellectual disabilities.
