Why Domestic Violence Victims Don't Leave

Mrs. Steiner gave a very good testimony of her abuse. She is well educated and was self-sufficient. There are so many reasons why women stay in abusive relationships. Lack of education is one reason. The victim needs a job so that she can support her children with what they need on a daily basis. Often times the children are left alone, because their mother has to work two jobs to support her family. Her former partner is not going to provide her with food, or child support. The lack of affordable housing will put her in less than safe living situation. I feel that they should be colleges that can help women with getting an attainable education so that she can go find a job with insurance benefits. The children need to go to counseling. I think children can get counseling at the YWCA and will not have to pay for Children Counseling Services. The mother can attend "victim Services " that are free. I also feel that it would be a good thing to bring back the, "social worker "who use to go visit those women who are a risk. I do not feel that the abuser should be allowed back into the home.
