In this course, you will be guided towards creating a culture of innovation in your team through effective leadership and management, along the way exploring methods of encouraging your team to approach every day as an opportunity for improvement and innovation. Throughout the course, you will work together in virtual teams on a business-related innovation challenge, and will have opportunities throughout to promote innovation within your team.
This course will help students to unlock their own and their team's innovation thinking skills. It will provide them with the skills necessary to be an effective and proactive member of an innovative team.

Week 1: Think like an innovator
In week 1, we will delve into what innovation is and practice thinking with an innovation mindset. We will explore innovative companies and people and look at innovation within Australia.
Week 2: Maximise innovation within a team
In week 2, we will turn innovative ideas into team projects. Here we will explore the importance of teams and how to build them in a way that maximises innovation.
Week 3: Work effectively as a team
Week 3 focuses on how to work well together as a team. We will explore ways to encourage innovation from the top down, as well as delve into different techniques for fostering innovative within a team, such as brainstorming and problem-solving techniques.
Week 4: Reflect on, review and reward innovation
Finally in week 4, we will work through the process of reflecting on and reviewing innovation within a team and how to give feedback. We will consider the challenges and barriers to innovation, challenges you may face in your team and ultimately, how to reward and celebrate innovation after your team project has drawn to a close.
Week 5: The finish line!
This week, we will share our innovation challenge Major Tasks and showcase the Innovation Solutions that teams within the course have been working on. High fives!
