SCCM Current Branch: Deploy and Manage Applications

via Pluralsight

Overview

Dive deeply into the tips, tricks, and techniques to deploy applications using System Center Configuration Manager in this course.

Getting SCCM clients installed on systems begins the process of gathering hardware and software information, but it's actually doing things with those clients that's inarguably where SCCM's value lies. And yet while you're surely familiar with the traditional Next, Next, Finish for EXE- and MSI-based installations, you might be surprised to discover just how many application install types Configuration Manager supports. In this fourth course out of seven, you'll begin by exploring the packaging and sometimes repackaging process for software, diving deep into several different approaches for "silencing" software in preparation for SCCM deployment. Next, with a quiver of new software packages then prepared, you'll explore the deployment of EXE and MSI installs that are likely to be your most-common use case. They are, however, not the only application types that SCCM can deploy. Then, you'll discover deploying App-V virtual applications as well as Microsoft Store and Microsoft Store for Business apps. By the end of this course, you'll see the not-terribly-difficult steps necessary to customize and deploy Office 365.
