Rainbow Skin - How to Create Colorful, Confident Skin Tones in Watercolor

via Skillshare

Overview

The idea of using “crazy” colors when painting a portrait in watercolors is far from new. Even brief observation of paintings by masters of past and present will show a command  and mastery of color that stretches far beyond basic pinks and browns. In this class, we are going to be clearing away the mystery and complexity of color in skin tones. It doesn’t have to be scary or intimidating. In fact, the process can be liberating and lots of fun!

In this class, you will learn:

  • Recommended materials for sketching and painting
  • Selecting and experimenting with a limited color palette
  • How to apply various colors for a cohesive, appealing effect
  • Tips and advice for avoiding muddy or over-saturated colors
