32K online courses, 42M enrollments, 51K hours duration

Here’s what we found when we inspected the Skillshare catalog:

Skillshare boasts more than 32K online courses and 42M enrollments. Over 9K teachers have created more than 51K hours of material altogether.

 

Number of courses added each year: 2012: 7, 2013: 104, 2014: 147, 2015: 333, 2016: 1,134, 2017: 1,144, 2018: 2,469, 2019: 3,013, 2020: 4,422, 2021: 4,527, 2022: 6,546, 2023: 3,753, 2024: 3,727, 2025: 1,435.

Since its inception, Skillshare has raised $136.8M; most notably, they raised $66M in 2020 in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic’s onset, which remains their largest funding round to date.
