Overview

This course will equip all teachers, professionals and aspiring teachers to understand the very root of Outcome-Based Education (OBE) that is the Outcome-Based Curriculum Development (OBCD). This course focusses on the four distinct major components of the OBCD i.e. Curriculum Planning, Curriculum Designing, Curriculum Implementation and Curriculum Evaluation. Understanding these four components elaborately discussed in this course with relevant examples, will automatically help you to also comprehend the basic features of Outcome-Based Teaching-Learning (OBTL) and how to undertake Outcome-Based Assessment (OBA) in various situations such as classroom, laboratory, field and industry, which is the litmus test for the success of OBE.

COURSE LAYOUT

To prepare the participants (means teachers or potential teacher) to plan for design of outcome-based engineering curricula to fulfill the need of the industry/society by comprehending different curriculum approaches.
Module - 1: Introduction to Curriculum Development in Engineering Education
Module - 2: Overview of Curriculum Development Process in Engineering Education
Module - 3: Outcome-based Curriculum (OBC) in Engineering Education.
A variety of instructional strategies and methods will be used in this course such as, videos, power point presentations, self-learning opportunities, examples and non-examples, discussion fora, doubt clarifications, and different kinds of learning activities. You will also be getting enough opportunities to assess your own learning on various aspects of curriculum development processes especially with respect to outcome-based engineering curriculum.
