This course aims to demonstrate an Internet of Things solution for real-time computation and delivery of plant Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in the context of the manufacturing industry. The learning outcomes include understanding Industry 4.0 opportunities, exploring the technical design of an IIoT solution, and evaluating worker performance through a real-world trial. The course covers topics such as technology pillars, components of IoT, project overview, challenges, sensors, trial outcomes, and feedback. The teaching method involves a presentation of outcomes from an IIoT research project funded by the Australian Meat Processing Corporation. This course is intended for individuals interested in Industry 4.0, IoT solutions for manufacturing, and real-time performance monitoring in industrial settings.
