This course covers the use of the FreeCAD Curves Workbench in 3D modelling from beginner to advanced level. Students will learn how to do various modelling tasks such as creating sweep along two rails, joining curves, extracting and extruding faces and edges, reducing edges and faces in models, extracting and extruding SVG imports, creating Nurbs surfaces, dividing, splitting and blending surfaces, multi-lofting to create different shapes and adding text to curved surfaces. Throughout the course students will work on practical examples such as how to create a boat hull or fuselage, parametric twist objects, complex pipe shells, helmets, curved shells, and project sketches onto curved surfaces. Students will also learn to trace 2D plans to 3D models and adding depth to Gordon surfaces. By the end of the course, students will be able to design parametric objects and be able to communicate their designs through 3D Printing.
