Overview

This course offers an introduction and overview of the ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) framework and its related IT service management (ITSM) concepts. It covers the entire ITIL service life cycle and ITIL process roles, tools, components and objectives. It lays out the ITIL service strategy, service value creation, service assets and resources, service portfolios, service catalogues, service level and financial management. Students learn about the various types of services, and how they create utility and warranty. They learn the role of demand and business relationship management. Further topics described include the service design process and its component roles and 4Ps. The course also outlines service transition, asset, configuration and release management, monitoring and security processes. The course also covers operation management and service desk function and application management, as well as the service improvement process and key terms and concepts. Overall, this course offers a comprehensive, hands-on introduction to ITIL and ITSM concepts.
