Overview
This course teaches a white-box networking approach called NetHint for multi-tenant data centers. The learning outcomes include understanding the mismatch between black-box networking and adaptive data-intensive applications, learning how NetHint enhances application performance through network hints, and evaluating the impact of NetHint on various application completion times. The course covers topics such as the design of NetHint, the information provided in the hints, adapting transfer schedules, and the overhead of implementing NetHint. The intended audience for this course includes cloud providers, cloud tenants, network engineers, and individuals interested in optimizing application performance in multi-tenant data centers.
