This talk focuses on a research project that explores the malicious use of social media, particularly Twitter, during the 2019 Canadian Federal Election Campaign. The learning outcomes include understanding the role of social-bots in manipulating public discourse through disinformation campaigns and the use of the Botometer tool to identify and analyze social-bots. The talk aims to provide insights into how social-bots inserted themselves into the political discussion during the election period.
