Overview
This course provides a basic introduction to organic chemistry for college students preparing for the 1st semester. The learning outcomes include understanding polar and nonpolar bonds, ionic & covalent bonding, alkanes, alkenes, alkynes, bond length, bond strength, sigma & pi bonds, hybridization, formal charge, functional groups, and drawing Lewis structures. The course teaches skills such as identifying different types of bonds, understanding molecular structures, and drawing Lewis structures. The teaching method involves video lectures. The intended audience is college students about to start their 1st semester of organic chemistry.
