Overview
This course covers the following learning outcomes and goals: understanding the vast world ocean, mapping the ocean floor using techniques like sidescan and multibeam sonar, interpreting data from satellite altimeters, studying different types of continental margins, exploring ocean basin floors, and analyzing seafloor sediments including biogenous and hydrogenous sediments.
The course teaches skills such as interpreting oceanographic data, using sonar technology for mapping, and identifying different types of seafloor sediments.
The teaching method includes lectures, data analysis exercises, and possibly hands-on activities related to ocean mapping and sediment analysis.
The intended audience for this course includes students and professionals interested in oceanography, geology, marine biology, or environmental science.
