Overview
This course aims to educate learners on the potential threats posed by IoT botnets of high wattage devices to the power grid. The learning outcomes include understanding the concept of Manipulation of demand via IoT (MadIoT) attacks, evaluating the effectiveness of different variations of these attacks, and recognizing the interdependency between IoT vulnerability and the security of critical infrastructure like the power grid. The course teaches skills such as simulating attacks on real-world power grid models and assessing the impact of these attacks on power systems. The teaching method involves presenting research findings and simulation results to illustrate the risks associated with IoT botnets targeting the power grid. This course is intended for individuals interested in cybersecurity, IoT security, power engineering, and systems security.
