This course is an introduction to Bioinformatics using Biopython, a programming library, which allows you to read FASTA files, transcribe and translate DNA to RNA to Protein, analyse quality scores from FASTQ files; access NCBI databases, perform sequence alignment and BLAST queries, register 3D protein visualisation, create and handle Sequence motifs, and plot sequence lengths and GC content. You will also learn how to read FASTA and FASTQ files faster, sort big FASTA/FASTQ files by sequence length, and to filter FASTQ files by PHRED quality scores. This course includes 1 hour Python for Bioinformatics tutorial, which will help you develop the needed programming skills.
